Now that lock-out is only hours away it is time to start finalising decisions around structure.
The biggest question for DreamTeam Coaches today is whether to play Dean Cox as a forward or ruck. I have decided to start Cox in the ruck and reinstate Buddy Franklin back into my forward line. The forward rookie situation is dire and thus i’ve decided to play Sam Rowe as a forward link with Cox regardless of whether he plays.
This season with 2 trades per week, i’ve also decided to take a risk on a popular SuperCoach player Josh P. Kennedy. My logic is around his value at only $523,900 and with the Swans starting the season against GWS and Gold Coast good points and a small price increase might allow a straight swap to a premium on the slide.
Defence: My defence has been altered with Heppell now replacing Grimes. Docherty also loses his position in the backline to Vlaustin.
Midfield: I was almost dead on with the rookies. Matt Jones comes into my side after a good preseason. I may change Jack Viney to his teammate Dean Kent, i’m still undecided. Ball has been removed and upgraded to a premium.
Ruck: This division will stay the same depending on Leuenberger. The guys from Footy Utopia are reporting he played half a game in the VFL, so he will stay in for now. If he is out i’ll upgrade to Kreuzer. Rowe has been moved into the forward line with Blivcavs coming in.
Forward: This has been my biegest area of change. Rockliff, Zorko and Macaffer remain. Stevie J has been replaced by Lance Franklin. Depending on how Franklin starts, i may straight swap to Johnson when he comes back from suspension. Broughton has been dropped altogether. He just does not seem to be finding the ball in the Suns line-up and at $408,00 with his track record is not worth the risk. He is now replaced with Karnezis. Siposs who I believe will have a good season has been downgraded. My two rookies Mayes and Membrey have been replaced by Rowe moving from Ruck to forward to create a link with Cox and Neade from Port Adelaide coming in to fill the last bench place. My only question on Neade is whether his body is ready to compete against men. However seeing him live he is lively and ferocious at a contest and not scared to go hard at a contest or the man.
