The 2013 pre-season is officially over and the real games begin on Friday night when Adelaide host Essendon at AAMI Stadium in the first game of the season. West Coast will play Fremantle on Saturday night with the remaining games being played the following weekend. Remember this means a ROLLING LOCK-OUT.

NOW THE ASSISTANT COACH
Posted below is the side selected by most AFL DreamTeam coaches according to the Assistant Coach. Fittingly the first 29 most popular players fit within the structure of the side. Only the 30th – Tom Lee and 31st – Lachie Whitfield fell before the next available defender, the 32nd most popular selection, Lewis Stevenson.
Assistant Coach Side

The number one player selected at present is Brendon Goddard with 50.4%. Rookie midfielder Jaeger O’Meara is second with 48.2%, Gary Ablett is third with 47.2% with Bryce Gibbs and Brett Goodes rounding out the top 5.

Returning Magpie forward Brent Macaffer is the 10th most selected player. Rookie North Melbourne Rucks Daniel Currie and Majak Daw are 14th and 15th respectively.

Sam Docherty and Joe Daniher who may struggle to get a game early in the season are selected 25th and 27th respectively.

Just outside the top 30 are Nate Fyfe with 16.8% at 33. Nic Naitanui is at 47 with 12.5% selections despite being injured.

Preseason bolter Patrick Karnezis is down at 71 with 8.4%.

My personal favourite Michael Hibberd has only been selected by 2.1% and looks to be a good unique with many coaches unaware of his form or put off by his high mid-price value.

This side will leave you with $175,100 left in the bank. What are your thoughts on this the most HYPED and selected team of the year?
