Name: Brent Macaffer
Macaffer making his comeback from injury in last season NAB Cup injured his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. Macaffer did return late in the season and played well for the Collingwood reserves however failed to regain his place in the Collingwood side.
Now at the age of 25 Macaffer the ability to become a swingman at both ends and also push into the midfield to become part of the rotation. Last season before his injury he was widely expected to have a more prominent role in the middle.
In 2011 Macaffer played 21 games and averaged 75 AFL Fantasy: DreamTeam points per game. In his 3 comeback games for the Collingwood reserves last season he also got over 20 possessions in two games playing half back, indicating he may be used in this position more in the future.
Despite his potential to be a fantasy gem in 2013, Macaffer is not a guaranteed starter in the Magpies 22. With the return from injury of Luke Ball, the inclusion of Clinton Young and Jordan Russell through Free Agency and Delisted Free Agency respectively Macaffer will have greater competition for a spot in the best 22.
An average of 68 DreamTeam points per 100 minutes over 4 games in the preseason is enough to bring Macaffer into your side. The big decision is whether he starts on your field or on the bench.
